Trip to Ukraine

Since Kiev attracts crowds of foreign visitors, do not forget to make a plan when starting your trip.

All Western guide books (without exceptions!) advise to take a walk along the Andriivsky Descent, Podol, Khreshchatyk, Mariinsky Park, visit the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Cathedral of St.Sophia, etc. Make sure to arrange a walk with a local guide who will enrich your acquaintance with the city with interesting stories and tasty coffee/beer/wine.

Visiting Kiev, do not forget to enjoy “Soviet” Kiev subway. Spend some time to inspect the impressive Soviet metro (especially the Red Line) – the metro was built on the site of the former bomb shelters. And the deepest metro station in the world is Arsenalnaya, which runs underground at a depth of 105m. The station received its name from the nearby Arsenal Factory. With a short middle hall, the so-called London or English style hall, it was built near the Parliament of Ukraine building in 1960, and this metro station was one of the first in Kiev.

Thanks to our communist past, in addition to subway, some monuments of architecture have survived. The most outstanding is the Motherland Monument that can be seen from anywhere in the city (almost like the Eiffel Tower in Paris). The growth of the mysterious lady is 102 meters and it is located near the museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

Another advice for a tourist in Ukraine is not to try to drink like Ukrainians. The national drink (and favorite leisure) is vodka. Any reason is considered sufficient for the toast, and refusal to drink is perceived as rudeness. But still, do not try to drink like Ukrainians!

But you can try to over-eat the Ukrainian. In addition, Ukrainian cuisine is rich in bright meals. The following meals are absolute must-tries in Ukrainian cuisine: borsch, vareniki, pickles and salo.

To get the maximum pleasure from the city and from communication in a pleasant company, we recommend leaving your worries behind and entrusting your leisure to a professional team of Kiev guides who will make an interesting plan to discover Kiev sights.
