Eurovision is a major song contest in Europe and in May 2017 it is Kiev that will host the show.
It was Ukrainian singer Jamala who won “Eurovision-2016” in Stockholm; she triumphed with the song “1944”. According to the results of voting of the national jury of the participating countries of Eurovision and SMS voting of the audience, Jamala scored 534 points. As winner, Ukraine has got the right to organize Eurovision this year and welcome all the guests of this event.
Organizers inform that official opening of the international song contest Eurovision 2017 will take place on the territory of St. Sophia Cathedral.
Red carpet of the festival that will bring together representatives of participating countries, press and contest fans will be located at the Sophia Square and will show the way to contest venue – the territory of St. Sophia Cathedral. Fans of the contest will enjoy the opening ceremony watching it on the screens installed at the square.
The contest part of the event will be held on the territory of the capital’s International Exhibition Centre (ICC) that is located on the left bank of the Dnieper.
The first semi-final will be held on May 9th, second – on May 11th, and final will be held on Saturday, May 13th.
